About Sophie
Sophie Barterian graduated in May 2019 with a degree in Physics from the University of Michigan. With an eye on interdisciplinary work following graduation, she spent her Luce year at Art Center Nabi, a digital art center in Seoul, South Korea. Here, she conducted research on definitions of creativity, studying if and how artificial intelligence can be creative and how this differs from creativity in humanity. Sophie continued to explore other fields after leaving Seoul in 2020 – she apprenticed at a recording studio in Boston before moving to Los Angeles in 2021. She currently works as an Assistant Audio Engineer at Iyuno-SDI Group.
