About Jackson

Jack Brook was a 2020-2021 Luce Scholar in Cambodia, where he worked at the Bophana Audiovisual Resources Center. He is currently a reporter for the Southeast Asia Globe in Phnom Penh. He primarily covers human rights issues such as the microfinance industry’s abuse of indigenous land rights and the impacts of authoritarianism in Southeast Asia. His reporting has also been published in the Jerusalem Post, Miami Herald, The Marshall Project, the Christian Science Monitor and other publications. Previously, he studied History at Brown University and was a volunteer teaching assistant in Rhode Island prisons. He enjoys making short documentaries, playing hockey badly and studying Khmer.
