Reem Nemmassi

Class of 2023-2024

About Reem

Reem Nemmassi is a genuine learner whose curiosity about cultural heritage stems from her Moroccan roots. She double majors in history and art history and minors in Africana studies at St. John’s University in Queens, New York. Her interests include Islamic art and identity, decolonization, and their intersection in the museum practice. She loves being busy on and off campus in positions that engage humanity through research, writing, and the arts. Her undergraduate experiences include work with the National September 11 Memorial Museum, The Marcella Sembrich Opera Museum, Peace Action New York State, and Bright Minds Africa. If she is not an hour deep in conversation with her family, Reem is probably rewatching her comfort shows, New Girl, and Community, or unintentionally in her seventh hour of drawing. She is blessed to study and do what interests her most.
