About Taylor
Taylor Hamilton was based in Osaka, Japan, assisting local NGOs by improving organizational capacity and applying creative strategies to engage vulnerable communities. Taylor led NGO staff to apply for hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant funding. Throughout their Luce Year, they experienced blacksmithing and woodworking techniques across Asia. Taylor aspires to establish a career as a community development specialist and international equity advocate. As a management consultant, she advised government agencies and social impact organizations on change management, organizational design, and operational transformation. They have furthered social and economic equity through their work, such as helping a U.S. federal government agency increase broadband access for tribal, rural, and Black communities and performing an impact assessment on local economic mobility for an NGO. Prior to consulting, Taylor graduated with a Master of Public Administration and Master of Arts in International Relations from Syracuse University. They also completed a Certificate in Conflict Resolution because they enjoy negotiation a little too much. Before heading off to university, Taylor completed two years of her general education at a community college, which she credits with preparing her to navigate spaces with confidence in her abilities and experience. Taylor is a fledgling woodworker and blacksmith, learning American and Japanese techniques over the past few years.
