About Zac
Zac Hill is the Chief Strategist of UNITE, Tim Shriver’s civic venture-builder. Previously he was the Chief Operating Officer of The Future Project, a national nonprofit devoted to helping young people discover and pursue their passion and purpose, and was the co-founder and Managing Partner of The Future Project’s subsidiary entities: Future Laboratories, a social-impact R&D lab, and The Future Company, a social-impact venture studio. Previously, Zac was a lead game designer for the card game Magic: the Gathering – as well as its digital affiliate, Magic: Duels – and was a color commentator for the Magic: the Gathering Pro Tour.
Zac serves on the Boards of Johego, a machine-learning-driven social services data provider, and Cela, a national network of venture accelerators. Through his creative strategy firm, Epiphany, Zac also advises executives in finance, media, gaming, and technology on their forays into the social-impact space. He has taught game design at MIT, public speaking at the University of Washington, and fiction writing at Richard Hugo House. A 2008-2009 Luce Scholar at the Centre for Independent Journalism in Kuala Lumpur, Zac graduated cum laude from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a recipient of the Morse, Seidman, and Abe Fortas prizes. He lives in Manhattan.
